VERNON REID:
Vernon Reid certainly needs no introduction, he’s one of the worlds greatest guitarists cited in the top 100 from Rolling Stone magazine. He’s the founder and principle songwriter of Living Colour, Masque, and Yohimbe Brothers, he’s also played and recorded with an eclectic array of stellar artists including Ronald Shannon Jackson, Public Enemy, Rollins Band, Mick Jagger, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Bill Frisell, Elliot Sharp, Jack Bruce, Cindy Blackman Santana, and Geri Allen among many others. Critic Steve Huey writes, “Reid’s rampant eclecticism encompasses everything from heavy metal and punk to funk, R&B,and avant-garde jazz, and his anarchic, lightning-fast solos have become something of a hallmark as well.”

SUPHALA:
Suphala is a protégé of the great tabla masters Ustad Allarakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain, whose constant inspiration compels her not only to dedicate herself to Indian classical music but also to extend the reach of the tabla into an ever-growing variety of musical genres and cultural contexts. Her fluency in a diversity of musical traditions informs her unique compositions and her highly improvisational performances. The three albums she has released to date – Instru Mental (2000), The Now (2005), Blueprint (2007) and Alien Ancestry(2013) – go beyond the limits of genre and style while referencing such diverse influences as Western classical, Indian classical, jazz, folk and soul. Collaboration is one of the touchstones of her prodigious musical output: the musicians she has recorded or performed with include Norah Jones, Perry Farrell, Edie Brickell, Vernon Reid, Timbaland, Sean Lennon, 4Hero, Harper Simon, Yoko Ono, Vijay Iyer, Joan Osbourne, and Michael Bland among others.

TIM MOTZER:
Philadelphia guitarist/improviser/composer Tim Motzer lives in a technicolor world of music. He is known for his textural guitar voice utilizing bowing, electronics, and prepared techniques. After 20 years of world touring, stunning collaborations, and 80+ albums of credits, he continues to traverse manifold territories in music. From 2016-2018 Tim toured the world playing 43 concerts and festivals with Bandit65, an improvising trio he co-leads with guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel and drummer Gintas Janusonis.  He has recorded/performed with numerous musical luminaries: David Sylvian, Burnt Friedman, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Ursula Rucker, King Britt, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Markus Reuter, and Pat Mastelotto among others. Motzer also creates live solo scores for modern dance—most recently to sold out houses in Philadelphia; Tokyo, Japan; Seoul, South Korea; Oujda, Morocco; and Toronto, Canada.  He composes for film and video, and is a composer/accompanist for University of the Arts Dance in Philadelphia. As a leader, his projects include Orion Tango, Instant Takemitsu, and Tim Motzer SOLO. He releases his solo work and collaborations on 1k Recordings.

GINTAS JANUSONIS:
Gintas Janusonis is a NYC based, Grammy nominated, internationally acclaimed drummer, composer, and producer who has worked with a diverse range of world class artists, groups, and producers during a 20-plus year career, including Angelique Kidjo, Branford Marsalis, Lee Scratch Perry, RZA, Wu-Tang Clan, Bill Laswell, David Murray, James Spaulding, Melvin Rhyne, Joe Blaney, Otis Clay, The Revelations, Ursula Rucker, Bilal and many more. His wide range of musical styles, groupings, and concepts are a reflection of the depth and breadth of his musical vocabulary and conception. His voice as a drummer and percussionist has been deeply informed by his work as a producer, composer, and recording engineer. Janusonis also explores the artistic possibilities of coalescing electronics with acoustic instruments, and sonic manipulations in his musical palate.
