Episode 12: Ursula Rucker and Tim Motzer

On Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 6:30pm (EST), 1k Recordings & web.illish.us present 1k Sessions, Episode 12 featuring world-renown poet Ursula Rucker, and guitarist Tim Motzer.

Rucker, now with 5 solo records (Supa Sista, Silver or Lead, Ma’ at Mama, Ruckus Soundsysdom, She Said), has worked with the likes of The Roots, 4 Hero, Jazzanova, Silent Poets, Incognito and Jon Hassell among many others. Most notably, Rucker graced The Roots first 3 albums including Do You Want More?!!?!! and Things Fall Apart.

For the past 11 years, Rucker and Motzer have developed a special chemistry touring abroad and performing at the worlds most prestigious festivals such as Punkt (N), Denau (AU), The Big Chill (UK), Montreux Jazz (CH), and Montreal Jazz (CAN). Ursula (along with Rich Medina) recorded on the captivating Secret Voices-No Time For Silence album on 1k Recordings produced by Motzer in 2006.
