excitement abounds in the land of 1k. two new records are out (jazzheads – avant wot not and nucultures – the zebramoon remixes) or about to be available in various formats, in stores, and in online shops…but what makes me the most excited is that for the first time, the 1k online store for our various releases will finally be a reality! pop the champagne cork! ouch! it hit the ceiling and bounced about the studio….! the cats are running in all directions…! nevertheless, we are excited, because for the first time you’ll be able to get some 1k product delivered directly to your doorstep from us…and we’ll also have some new goodies available for you that you can only get here…not to mention downloads! wow! we have an archive bursting at the seems of incredible music…some of which would not see the light of day otherwise….and many of the projects that i’ve been associated with should be available here as well…!! you’ll also find the soundlab in a much more friendly state for students and scientists of music…and an updated gallery…a 1k music player…lots of music released and un-released…live and studio…available for your ears…and don’t forget your credit cards…a world awaits you…and as always we appreciate and need your support incredibly…it allows us to continue…the next 1k next blog will be about 3 incredible record/cd shops in philadelphia…the treasure troves…gifts to the city of brotherly love…hold on tight…until next time!

ps: the hard work begins this week on ursula rucker’s live project in support of her upcoming new album ‘ruckus soundsysdom’ ….wooo!…gonna be alot of work and fun, but mostly, be sure to come out and support independent music on october 12 at world cafe live as we unveil the new music…w/ special guest taylor mcferrin…with the fivesixmedia dj’s. (britt, dozia, clarke)…the ruckus soundsysdom band will be a world renown crew of: kevin gift, tim motzer, chuck treece, anthony tidd, and carlos izaguirre.
