back in philly

awakening to a damp grey frankfurt day, but, alas, we go home today! yes. it’s been an incredible tour…great perfomances in mostly soldout/packed venues…wonderful people and many adventures, but looking forward to not flying for awhile, getting some sleep, and just sitting in one room for hours, or as long as i please. haha.
drive to frankfurt airport is fine, and check in goes smoothly. flight to london heathrow is comfortable with plenty of leg room to boot,,,doze to ipod. upon arrival to heathrow everything changes…we are late, and held up forever at a security line that is terminally slow…only two cues for a thousand people! insane. upon arriving at the gate, i am told my 2 guitars cannot accompany me into the plane…arguments insue, as i’ve never had this happen before on a transatlantic flight…they assure me my guitars will be ok…but i am very upset…i’ve had both my guitars cracked from falls on this tour…the flight is ok, but with pathetic hollywood films that don’t keep my interest…the ipod does, and i sleep. upon de-plane-ing at the aircraft they radio for my guitars to be brought to the craft from the hold, and once again reunited my worries are over.
looking forward to no airports, painful checkins, lugging gear, and luggage everyday for a month, checkin and out of hotels, but it wasn’t really that bad…haha…the shows were well worth it.
in philly, exhausted but happy, belgian ales and food at my favorite hang Bridgids insues…then, a LONG sleep……………….ahhhhhhhhhh.
