dave grohl and the foo fighters played here last night as part of a surprise aol live broadcast, and as a result our soundcheck is pushed back to 8pm with doors opening at 9:30…with 3 bands to soundcheck, there’s not much time for me to set up all the gear and to get a good monitor mix for the show…as a result, ursula and i make the best of it during our hour set at the black cat. not one of our best shows soundwise, but some stellar moments: four minutes of fun with it’s arabic workout and what? (which ursula, as usual, turned the crowd inside out on)…but folks here were great as usual and seemed to feel the show as is.
