Back home, rested, and studio bound as the follow up to the 1k recordings 2002 release: nu cultures is about to happen.
This second record seems to want to be a double cd because the hard drives are filled and burning with tracks from the last 4 years that would love to be heard — so what better way to let them fly then to include them on nu cultures – butterflys, zebras, and moonbeams.
the past week or so since returning from west coast tour, we’ve been happily spending our time finishing vocals, and adding bits and pieces to the already 19-22 songs possible for the next nc-2. this philly collective–ellie perez, barry meehan, and i have been digging deep finishing, arranging, tucking and awaiting the arrival of jeff chestek to take away the hard drive for the final mixes.  can’t wait, but enjoying the process and the fun collaborations with good friends.  this week finished up ‘ the shadow box’ (a modern day heartbreaker), the psychedelic ‘the universe is expanding’, and ‘all around you’ (a song about spinning on impossible love while waiting in airports watching the tv screen).

tim motzer – punctured will follow this later in 07, as will the new album from ellie perez …all kinds of surprises in store, we’re also hopeful to squeeze a barry meehan solo record in 07 too…so stay tuned.

earlier this week, i recorded vocals for a waxtailor track (paris, france) with ursula rucker. really hot one…it’ll be out soon…in a bit!
