it’s been a busy few weeks…lots of studio stuff going on…finished tracking for the new secret noises ep…collaborating again with enrico marani from regio emilia, italy (2blue, duoZero, Secret Voices)
for release later this year…loosely aimed at the clubs…featuring ellie perez on two tracks…i’ve sent along lots of abrasive guitar and noise…just feeling that way lately…..hahaha….also, been tracking with ursula rucker…a new song…’for women’…for her new album on k7 + played guitar on an anthony tidd track as well along side my old buddy james poyser…gonna be an amazing track…tried out my new godin multiac guitar on that…kinda fun groovin in 9/8…haha…

did a couple gigs with ursula at columbia university, and at fletchers baltimore…a good weekend…crzy in new york…when we arrived at our hotel it had been oversold by one room…so i had to negotiate with getting another room in another hotel 25 blocks away…it all worked out…it’s amazing…one room $330 for a night…but there you go…a really nice gig in baltimore over top a biker bar…haha…baltimore is funky funky…some great people there…james from fertile ground, and hosted by olu butterfly.

been checkin lots of live music: saw prefuse 73 @ unitarian church, the weeds @ tin angel, james blood ulmer with jamaaladeen tacuma and autechre at the troc….lot o great diverse music here in philly if you seek it out…did a gallery performance with superviolinist gloria justen and daniele strawmier friday nite. really fun improvisation…guitarsynth+violin…and dance.

lastly, the burnt friedman+jaki liebezeit (can) record featuring david sylvian is coming out in about a week(may17)…called ‘out in the sticks’…i finally heard my copy…it’s a beautiful record w/ dense layers…and an incredible david sylvian track on there…it’s a real pleasure and honour to be a part of this wonderful album and work with such stellar players. check it out soon…a vinyl only release…distributed to US through forced exposure…
