“This was an outstanding show! The visuals in this space along with the music were so powerfully woven together and were essential elements of the whole experience; And in this performance tonight, you managed to get Balinese and eastern percussion sounds out of an acoustic guitar. You make up the plot, and your partner has the visual cues at her fingertips and it’s a live action short film made up in the moment that has no genre really other than being it’s just what you do so damned well. This music you make is beyond notes and scales. and the sensitivity you have and the way it flows through you isn’t ever an accident or a cliche. This show tonight was a tour de force in color, majesty and reverence for life and the most overtly eastern I’ve ever heard you take things in the texture you use, but also it was probably the most orchestral too with symphonic layers that were deeply vivid but never once bloated or garrish…it was economical in many functional ways the same as it is whenever you play funk and this performance only had exactly just what particular sounds were needed which were placed meticulously in their perfect and nost precise spots. I love your work and both what you choose to both play and not play and the results of what you magically find that manifests itself in your fingers. But You guys really got to everyone in that space today. Thank you!”
