a last minute call from jamaal to play with his dna gallerie young flamethrowers series at tritone proved to be a screamin evening…jamaal with his brand new vintage 2×15 kustom stack…drum dynamo webb thomas..(yft) – daud el-bakara on trumpet…and me with the trusty 66 epiphone + pedals galore!!!…just an amazing spontaneous evening of music from this unit….it was good playin again in this vibe and letting alot of deep stuff fly…hope to do some more stuff or a cd w jamaal in 2004…we’ll see…had a good time experimenting with various fuzz tones tonite….i’m still buzzzin from all the fuzzin……of course, it’s a real honour to play with these great musicians..and, to play with mr. tacuma is always a blessing….years ago before i moved to philadelphia, i used to listen to his records and read his interviews in musician magazines…so it brings me special joy to be able to perform with him in philly…!!!!
