ILLAGE, tritone, philadelphia
since our mighty batterist, jim hamilton, was out of
town on a well deserved holiday, we had a few guest players last night at tritone for the illage
global inversion band…with tim kennedy (tk)
on his vintage phenix, moog, and beatbox; and from nyc on
drums claudio rochat-felix (the keith moon of jazzimprov!). another tremendous evening of music
here at the tritone. the sets were amazing especially the moments of surreal alice coltrane, funk, secret agent rock, dub, noise experiments, fuzzswing, phat basslines, nasty organ soul,
collective free improv and amazing solos + melodies by the esp-like horns of chris cuzme, dan sears, and phil yaeger…another brilliant night…great to be apart
of all this…and hope we can do some more hits with this mighty lineup…recorded noisily to analogue cassette for posterity. snippets sure to
come on the 1k sounds page…mp3 style…soon!
