hope everyone had a nice holiday and new years celebration. as for me i was in chicago visiting family there which was quite nice and made a trek to green mill to see my friend jeff parker play with his burning organ quartet…wonderfulness.  an interesting time new years eve day in asbury park where all is being re-built (the casino, etc) and many condos going up seaside and new businesses, cafes, shops anticipating it’s clients.  new years came in quietly this year to what looks like a tremendously busy 07.  as of today we are finishing up the nucultures record butterflys, zebras, and moonbeams…with so far some astonishing mixes from jeff chestek.  the art dept. is also very busy. thomas schmid has been readying the package artwork and design, and we are all very excited here. amazing. wait to you see it. hoping for an early Feb07 release. 
ursula dates
have more dates in for ursula ruckers tour of europe…we’ll also do shows in vancouver and the region in early feb…with a possible hit in detroit at end of jan…very tentative.  march through april this time in europe that will also take us to singapore for one show…and many new places in the UK that we haven’t played before. we’re also real excited to go to slovakia, and of course see all our friends in germany, italy, and paris….going to be a great tour and looking forward to that.
last week burnt friedman and jaki liebezeit invited me to come to cologne to do some recording for their next record on nonplace.  when we recorded secret rhythms 2 i recorded my guitar parts here in philly in my studio…so it will be amazing to finally play with jaki and burnt in the same room!
sis gertrude show will happen in chapel hill north carolina in february as well…getting together all the guys to rock that out and finally working on some new film stuff with king britt…so as usual music madness pervails. 
lastly: electric miles project will hit ortliebs feb 19th…hope to see you there!
